Choosing a career is no easy task. When you are trying to settle on a career path, a number of factors have to be taken into account. If you make a hasty decision, you may end up unhappy and unsatisfied at your job and may have to switch jobs repeatedly. Even though the financial aspect is just one potential perk of working, a lot of people find the concept of making money highly appealing. This is the primary reason why the pay is one of the first facts learned about a particular occupation. Naturally, there are some jobs that are more lucrative as opposed to others.

Here is a list of the highest paying jobs you can find:

5- Dentist

Just like doctors, if you are interested in pursuing a career in the dental field, you will have to complete eight years of school. This includes four years of college and then three to four years of dental school. Once education is complete, you will need to become licensed at one of the dental schools in the country. After you have reached that point, depending on your level of training and specialization, you can earn more than $130,000 annually.

4- Airline Pilot

A four year degree is not a requirement for an airline pilot, but it is now recommended because the field has become very competitive. The jobs available to an airline pilot can vary from dusting crops to flying a helicopter to flying for commercial airlines. The expected salary of an airline pilot is about $134,000 annually.

3- Engineering Manager

With an annual salary that surpasses $140,000, engineering managers have the primary responsibility of taking an active part in coordinating and planning production activities. If you aspire to be an engineering manager, you will need to start with a bachelor’s degree and then go on to pursue an MBA or get a doctorate later on. You will only be able to earn the highest salary after you have had 10 to 15 years of job experience.

2- Chief Executive Officer

Another prosperous career track can be found in the business world. The head of the company is the chief executive officer or the CEO who has the responsibility of overseeing the daily moves of the company. The CEO is also answerable to the shareholders directly and the public. An average of $140,000 to $150,000 can be earned by a CEO, but it takes them years of loyalty and success in a company before they have a chance to be appointed in that position.

1- Surgeon

The healthcare industry is a wide and prosperous one, especially in developing countries. For instance, there are thousands of healthcare jobs in India because most people are without healthcare insurance. The highest position in the medical field is that of a surgeon who can earn more than $180,000 to $200,000. However, eight years of study are a requirement and then three to seven years of residency have to be completed, which makes it an expensive and grueling career path.
