Samsung Announces Hybrid Laptops with Built-in S-Pen

A new pair of convertible hybrid laptops have been announced by Samsung, along with the 13 and 15 inch Notebook 9 Pro. These new devices greatly resemble the Chromebook Pro’s Windows flavored versions and this is not necessarily a bad thing. The built-in stylus is where the similarities between the Chromebook Pro and Samsung Notebook 9 Pro and they continue in the form of convertible laptop and rounded frame. These are all the features that have been highly appreciated in the Samsung Chromebook Pro and hopefully, they have made a proper transition to a Windows 10 device.

Creatives are the target market of the Notebook 9 Pro due to which Samsung has provided the Full-HD 13 inch and 15 inch touch panels that work quite smoothly with the built-in S-Pen. It is claimed by the South Korean giant that the 0.7mm tip of its stylus has the ability of conveying 4,000 levels of pressure. This is only 96 levels of pressure short of the Surface Pen, which can be found with the latest Surface Pro. However, the S-Pen has a definite advantage over the Surface Pen as Microsoft’s digital stylus needs to be charged and this is not the case with Samsung’s version, which is always on.

The stylus can be used by people with the Air Command software that’s already pre-loaded. It can come in handy for taking notes, drawing and editing documents. Furthermore, you can also use the S-Pen with the Windows Ink Workspace, which includes protractors, rulers as well as other virtual drawing tools. Fasts charging features can also be found in both models of the Notebook 9 Pro thanks to a 54WHr battery incorporated by Samsung. Other than that, they boast 256GB SSD and Intel Core i7-7500U processors. Some specifications have been beefed up in the larger model due to its size such as 16GB of onboard memory and also an AMD Radeon 540 GPU for offering discrete graphics.

In contrast, the smaller 13-inch model only has a memory of 8GB. As far as availability and pricing of both models of the Notebook 9 Pro are concerned, Samsung has yet to make an announcement. In other news for the company, there has been a massive leak about the South Korean firm’s upcoming Galaxy Note 8. According to reports, the device will boast a huge 6.3-inch screen, which is about 0.6-inches larger than the ‘literally explosive’ Galaxy Note 7.

If this turns out to be true, the Galaxy Note 8 would turn out to be company’s largest flagship smartphone with the exception of Galaxy Mega, which was released in the midrange in 2013. This size increase doesn’t come off as impractical because they have probably used the ‘Infinity Displays’ seen in the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus, the latter being about 6.2 inches. Apple is also expected to introduce a bigger screen with its iPhone 8, said to be its 10th anniversary device. In addition, the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to have the fingerprint sensor at the front and dual rear cameras.
