Here's a Brilliant Guide on How to Study for Exams

Taking an exam is stressful but one can make it easier by improving the way one used to study for exams. Studying for exams effectively and efficiently will keep one from feeling unprepared.

Before you start studying, make a list of the subjects you need to study for and arrange them from toughest to easiest. Study for your easiest exams first and then move on to the toughest one. Arrange all your study materials and make separate notebooks for each and every subject. If you have study notes prepared by your school teacher then follow them rigorously. Here are some simple tips to study efficiently for exams.

Organise your study area:

Make sure your study area has enough light so that whatever is written in your textbooks and notebooks are easily visible to you.  Your study area should have proper space to spread your textbooks and notes out.

Start early preparation:

Take enough time to review the topics that were covered in class. You might want to gauge how soon you would need to start your preparation by analyzing your syllabus. For example, if you are preparing for a semester you must start preparing few weeks prior to the exam. However, if you are just taking a test that covers few chapters of a subject, three or four days prior to the exam may be sufficient.

Only you will know how long you would take to study, so you are your own judge of when to start studying.

Consult your subject teacher:

Ask your subject teacher about what to study for the exam or what are the important topics. Many teachers will provide some guidance on what will be covered on the test and what will not be covered on the test.

Take notes while studying:

While studying the topics of any subject, one must read and take notes simultaneously. Taking notes on the subject not only helps to understand the topic but also helps  to retain the concepts for a long period of time.

Use Diagrams:

Always try to draw diagrams of the topics you have just studied, sketching diagrams of a topic will help to know the working of the device or of an organ. Suppose you are studying about photosynthesis, then you must try to sketch a labelled diagram of photosynthesis.

Eat a healthy, light meal:

Eat a balanced breakfast full of lean protein, vegetables and antioxidants. Avoid taking caffeine and stimulants, taking too much of these may reduce the efficiency of sleep.

Follow these simple rules and prepare for your exams. Don’t take stress during your exam preparation. Make sure whatever you are studying, you learn it properly.
