Don’t Put all Eggs In One Basket

As the old saying goes, don’t put all your eggs in one basket. The definition of this is that one should not concentrate all resources and efforts in one area as one could lose everything.

This is also true in marketing. Many people think that investing in one avenue of marketing is the way to go concentrating all their efforts on this one way. This has been proven that it does not work and it is better to have different ways of marketing to bring revenue into your business.

Targeted marketing is great for any business. Find out who your ideal customer is and target them.

Leaflet distribution is a great example of waiting and finding your ideal customer. Making sure your design on the leaflet is correct and then distributing to the areas where you are most likely to have the most success from your target marketing. Do not rush this process and it will more than likely take more than one leaflet dropping session to monitor the success of the project.

Most small business owners do not know what the true value of marketing really is. Which is to create value to their business. Businesses are usually so focused on making money and saving pennies on their marketing they then lose more money because they do not invest purposefully into marketing. Marketing will contribute three times more value to any business strategy than any other one.

A leaflet distribution project or promoted post on Facebook may not get the results you were hoping for. Each small business is different and having as many avenues of marketing available will help immensely.

Website marketing is an important factor and should link correctly to your social media accounts. If you want to double the time a user spends on your website, then add a video to the home page. Search engine optimisation (SEO) is necessary for your google ranking. This will help your website be found for your select keywords.

Leaflet distribution is a great marketing tool which has been used for years and a very effective way of getting direct to your customers present and new. According to Alan from Compass Distribution “Many customers that don’t have access to a computer such as the elderly will see a leaflet drop through their door and have your details to hand.” This is such a great way of getting into your customers homes directly. Coupons, offers can also be used on the leaflets too giving an incentive to your customers. Word of mouth goes a long way and if people are happy with your services they will recommend your company to their friends, family and colleagues.

Leaflet distribution is still performing well in many businesses and in some cases outclassing other ways of marketing when it comes to selling products and services. Some businesses also use a call to action service on their leaflets directing you to their website where you can put more information about an offer you are promoting or telling them more about their business, which wouldn’t fit onto a leaflet.
