When was the last time you pinged one of your colleagues on Facebook messenger or liked one of their Instagram pictures when they were away from the office? 1. Announcements

The most common type of business memos are those that make announcements about the company. These could be announcements about the company’s standing in terms of its share price or the profit it has made at the end of the financial year. Announcements about bonuses could also be made this way.

Another key type of announcement that a company might want to make by a printed internal memo is the appointment and resignation of senior staff. It is typical for an outgoing CEO to want to say a few words about their time at the company and to let their valued colleagues know that they are sad to be moving on.

2. What Not to Wear

If you work for a company that is traditional or customer-facing then what employees wear is often crucial to the company and dress policy can often be very specific and strict.

But in the 2020s even traditional companies have to make changes to keep up with changing times. Dress codes have to be updated to be more inclusive of religious differences and employee’s ability to determine their own gender.

3.Policy Change

Another type of memo is the one that announces policy changes. These could be changes to working hours, to environmental policies or perhaps to announce the introduction of more remote work. A memo could even detail the results of a spending audit to senior management.

There Are Many Examples of Business Memos That Hit the Right Note

There are many times during a company’s existence that business memos are useful. Some examples of business memos include ones announcing key policy changes like the company making a commitment to eradicate plastic and go green. Another example of an internal memo is one announcing the resignation or appointment of a chief executive or CEO.

All of these business memos can be stored in the company archive. They will be preserved for future generations. The printed internal memo also makes more of an impact than emails which can easily be deleted or forgotten.
