We all need cheap and fast internet in our lives. Internet coverage has become an obstacle when you are either touring the world or living in a country or area in your country where internet coverage is not the best in terms of WiFi or simple data coverage.
Elon Musk with one of the most incredible startup in the world; SpaceX has started the tech startup project Starlink whose aim is to provide cheap and fast internet in every corner of the world with a centralized system.
What is Starlink?
Starlink is a project which aims to position over 12,000 satellites in the world’s orbit to provide the whole world with cheap WiFi. Billionaire Musk also demanded permission to put 30,000 people up there. The program is already planned to provide the United States and Canada with limited coverage next year. In 2021 regional access will then be made open. SpaceX is now assumed to have ample satellites to launch Starlink. Nonetheless, far more in space is needed until sufficient coverage can be given. The first 60 Starlink spacecraft were placed in space in May 2019 and mocked for the brightness of night in the atmosphere. The satellites will be spaced at varying altitudes around the planet, including 340 miles and 710 miles. Musk is not the first software giant to colonize satellite space. Jeff Bezos also gets some suggestions from Amazon chief Mike to invest in this project to provide the world with a cheap solution to connect their phones to the worldwide web anywhere in the world with ease and very light on the pocket.
Coverage and Pricing:
Elon Musk said SpaceX requires about 400 Starlink satellites in North America to provide “minor” and 800 for “serious” coverage. He also claimed that Starlink is just 3% to 4% of the population of places that are not and are not covered, but that it is not suitable to large populated centers as a consequence of the constraints of bandwidth.
SpaceX reports that it will provide high-speed broadband networks with a delay measured at less than 50 milliseconds for the community segment it covers. In June too, he asked the FCC’s consent to launch another 30 000 satellites of the second generation. Musk has already said that in the mid-2020s he plans to send nearly 12000 satellites. If everything is planned for SpaceX, web users around the world can have Internet speeds 40 times faster regardless of where they live. How much it costs is not yet revealed, but Musk wants prices to remain low. For slightly different reasons all eyes will be on SpaceX next month.
The space company plans to start a trial flight manned by the end of May. Elon Musk ensures that the price of this whole project will be highly affordable for the population and all of the users will be joined on a unified package with fees being charged annually with easy payment systems throughout the world.
