Home Screen Tips

Get More on Your Home Screen

The Galaxy S20 allows you to adjust the grid size on your home screen and app drawer to display more or less items on your screen. You can squeeze in more apps or leave some space between your widgets, depending on how busy you want the home screen to be.  Let’s show you how it’s done.

The Galaxy S20 gives you the ability to move from a standard 4×4 app grid to a larger 4×5, and it’s super easy to do. Long press on the wallpaper and select “home screen settings”. Select 4×5 to display fewer items, 4×6, 5×5 or 5×6 to cram more in,it all comes down to your preferences.

Display Tips

Navigation Bar or Full-Screen Gestures? It’s Your Call.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 features an interesting display setting that gives you the option to choose how you want to interact with the User Interface: Either through a standard navigation bar or through full-screen gestures.

Gesture navigation has been updated on your S20 to include more choices for swiping around your screens and apps. Head into settings > display > navigation bar and you can switch to gesture navigation.

Notifications Tips

Instantly Access Notifications on Your Samsung Galaxy S20

With phones getting bigger with every generation, it’s no longer easy to access quick toggles one-handed. Fortunately, the Galaxy S20 has an option that lets you pull down the notification panel from anywhere on your home screen. This feature is particularly handy on bigger Galaxy S20+ and S20 Ultra phones.

Here’s how to set it up. Long press on the wallpaper and select “home screen settings”, then “swipe down for notification panel”. You can now go to your home screen and try it out.

Camera Tips

Use Single Take to Capture Everything with Samsung Galaxy S20

From larger sensors and industry-leading 100x zoom to the ability to shoot amazing 8K video, Samsung has made its cameras a top priority among the Galaxy S20’s many impressivespecs.

There’s even a new fancy mode called “Single Take”, which lets you tap the shutter once and move around a bit to capture the moment from different angles. When Single Take is activated, the camera will utilize different functions at once, such as ultra-wide shots, live focus, filters, and more. Here’s how to use it: Head into the camera app, tap “Single Take”, and then tap “Capture”.

Samsung has also incorporated an AI-based camera system into the Galaxy S20 series– the Galaxy S20 Ultra – has its largest image sensor to date of up to 108 megapixels (MP).

To enable 108MP mode on your S20 Ultra, head over to the Camera app. Next, open the Aspect Ratio menu > select 3:4 aspect ratio button.

Security Tips

Enable Fingerprint or Face Security

The Galaxy S20, S20+, or the S20 Ultra all come with facial recognition software. If you’re looking for a more secure authentication system, your best option is a biometric authentication system such as the fingerprint reader.

Here’s how to choose your preferred lock method:  Head into settings > biometrics and security.Whether you want to choose to register your face or fingerprints, you will have to set a back-uppassword to provide additional security.

Top Tip: Register fingerprints from both hands so you can unlock however you are holding your phone.
