Why Are People Quitting Their Jobs?

Companies have been receiving more resignation letters this year than they may have received in the last 5 years. Companies across the globe have been shaking their head and trying to figure out what may have gone wrong. First and foremost due to lockdowns, companies have made their employees overwork which could well be one of the reasons for so many workers opting out. There are numerous other reasons why people have started quitting their jobs. Some of the main reasons will be discussed here.

Employers think more about the company than the workers:

Employees have been starting to realize that employers do not pay any attention to the well-being of workers, the only thing they care about is the revenue they generate monthly. When the overall performance is evaluated in the meetings, an employer only seems concerned about how well or bad the company is performing and how much profit it is generating. The HR does not pay any attention to the mental health of the employees make employees feel, they are just donkeys for the company. This is a major reason why a lot of employees quit.

Overworking:

With companies facing huge losses because of the Covid pandemic being around for long periods, Employers are unrealistically asking their employees to be present 24/7 with a concept of work from home. The overload of work is having a toll on employees overall health and mental sickness has been the trending topic of discussion these days. People are realizing the importance of having peace in life.

People have started reevaluating their lives:

Impacts of Covid and several discussions on social media have made people feel the worth of their time and life. Since a lot of people have lost their lives due to the virus, people are driving more themselves towards the thing they love rather than what they are supposed to do. People are more ready to live life on their terms rather than working under someone.

Priority:

As the Covid wreaked havoc and people lost their loved ones during this time. This shook people to their core and they started to feel that their real wealth is time and family, it’s not the money. They are starting to prioritize their life to spend more quality time with the family to maintain a healthy relationship with each member. This is giving them pleasure as well as satisfaction.

Hobbies over forced careers:

Most of us are doing a job that we extremely hate, we don’t quit o just because the pay is good enough to bear the expenses and helps in paying all of our bills. During the pandemic, many people figured out what is the real wealth. They are starting to look for other ventures to earn their bread and butter; something they love doing and enjoy to its full.
