Work, School, Play: How Covid’19 Reshaped Our World

It’s been almost 2 years since China confirmed its first death as a 61 years old man died of the Covid’19 Virus.  That was just the beginning of something that completely changed how the entire world operates.

Our daily life activities entirely transformed as people were forced to change the pattern of how they go about their life. There were restrictions to control the spread of the pandemic.

The changes were started to see from working to shopping and schooling. Let’s discuss a few changes that occur due to the spread of covid’19 and they may never be the same again.

Work from home:

As the Covid’19 started to spread all around the globe, Governments of different countries asked people to restrict themselves to home. This act from the government forced businesses to set up home offices.

Remote working quickly becomes a trend in the business world and most businesses started to operate from the comfort of their home. Initially, the workers had to face challenges to work remotely but with time, they started to enjoy it. Remote working has proved to be cost-effective for a lot of businesses as it protects them from different extra expenses.

The advancement in technology has also helped businesses to flourish during pandemic times by performing from home. Remote working has become a new norm in the business world. The percentage of people working remotely has immensely increased during the last two years.

Rise of E-commerce:

During a pandemic, the E-commerce industry has seen massive growth as countries have gone into lockdown for months. That’s when Businesses realized the importance of having an online presence to reach out to their customers.

The graph for online sales was increased by a fair margin for everything from Meals to groceries, clothes, jewelry, and furniture items. Online sales rose 38 percent in the first quarter of 2021 as the same amount of sales were made during the entire 2020.

Zoom Learning:

As lockdown saw students out of the school and colleges made everyone worried about what is their future going to be like? If students have been able to study at least something during Covid’19, the whole credit goes to apps like Zoom and google meet for facilitating students when there was no hope.

Countries with less technology suffered most as they were unequipped to make full use of such applications. These kinds of applications required stable internet for the conduction of smooth classes online.

In some parts of the world, it has been observed that the quality of education has been dropped and seen a significant drop in maths and reading skills of students.

Planes, Trains, and Bicycles:

The traveling industry is among those countries which have seen a major dip in their sales as countries forced border closure and set certain travel restrictions.

Experts believe that the traveling industry may not be able to come back to its normal until 2024 which is a worrying sign for traveling businesses.
