5 New Rifles to Bring to Your Next Shooting Range Session

Looking for a new rifle to bring to your next outing at the shooting range? We’ve got the lowdown on the five new rifles to try out. It can be hard to know how these rifles stack up against one another without actually trying them out for yourself, but trusting an expert list is a great place to start. After going through all the rifles that are hitting the market right now, we’ve come up with the five that we think you will most enjoy taking to the range.

Ruger American Predator

Shopping on a budget? The Ruger American Predator is a solidly-built bolt-action rifle that prices under $500. If you hunt deer or smaller-sized game, go for the 6.5 Creedmoor version, which can be ordered with a Vortex Crossfire II scope that can shoot out 300 yards.

Want to hunt elk and other big game? Get this rifle in the .30-06 Springfield variant. Ammo for it is easily procured and quite considerably affordable. This cartridge is great for elk hunting, plus, most shooters can handle this rifle’s recoil.

Sig Cross

Lightweight and accurate, the Sig Cross works well for adult and youth shooters alike. Also, the folding stock and the short barrel make the gun easy to pack for a hunt. All of the quality control issues that this gun faced right after its release seem to have been resolved, and now it is a great, versatile gun to own if you need to easily pack up for a hunting expedition on your next free weekend.

Still new to rifles? With expert recommendation from gun sellers such as Tombstone Tactical, all your questions and needs will be taken care of quickly and efficiently.

Bergara B-14 Ridge

The Bergara B-14 Ridge has a stock design that is well-crafted for bigger cartridges, as is the gun’s butt pad. Reliable, well-crafted, and accurate, the B-14 Ridge is a solid rifle that doesn’t garner nearly as much attention as it deserves.

The action feels smooth enough, plus the trigger is easy to grip and control. If you have ever shot an older Remington 700, this rifle should feel familiar to you. It probably requires less work than the newer Rem 700s that are getting released.

CVA Cascade

The CVA Cascade is, for the cost, a great rifle that packs in a lot of features. It prices in the $600 range and is a solid bolt-action rifle for the price range. Its 4140 steel receiver bears a one-piece, three-lug bolt that delivers on accuracy. In addition, its barrel is threaded 5/8×24 TPI allows for muzzle brakes and suppressors. The SoftTouch finish on the stock provides good grip, even in wet weather conditions.

Savage Axis II

A good alternative to the Ruger American Predator is the Savage Axis II. If you are looking for a reasonably-priced rifle, this is a reasonable option. Its stock is unique in that it lets you extend or shorten the length of pull to your body. If you have a youth shooter with you, this is helpful for them since it allows them to get their face closer to the scope.

This rifle includes a stainless steel barrel available to order, which means you don’t need to worry about bluing it. You can also order it with either the 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm-08, or the .30-06.

Bring any of these firearms to the gun range or on your next hunting trip, and you’ll have everything you need to make your next trip a total success.
