Power Habits for the Entrepreneur

Entrepreneur

Entrepreneurs are their own, special breed. If you’ve ventured out on your own, you undoubtedly have a lot of guts and confidence. It’s safe to assume you’ve already adopted some healthy habits.

We’ve offered up some power habits for the entrepreneur that aren’t often discussed.

Create a Goal List

Jotting down a list of goals helps you keep on track and generates powerful focus on what you want to achieve. The successful leaders I’ve talked to in the past explain how they kept a running list of their goals.

No dream is too big. Write down whatever comes to mind, and don’t limit yourself. There are certain things in life that may seem impossible right now, but that doesn’t mean it won’t change in the future.

The more specific you get, the better. You could write down a goal to hire your own private jet from Access Global or be listed on the Forbes Top 1000 list! Shoot for the stars when it comes to writing down your goals.

Meditate Regularly

Meditation offers a host of benefits to your physical and mental health. It’s also a habit that’s easy to start. With guided meditation practices available on sites like Spotify and YouTube, it takes off any pressure if you’re not sure where to start.

If you start meditating, you allow yourself a place of peace and intense focus. The whole point of meditation is to be aware of your thoughts as they come in and drift back to the present moment. This practice allows you to maintain this place of stillness to make room for new, innovative ideas to enter.

Give Yourself a Break

We know you’re busy, and the thought of a break seems counterproductive. However, allowing yourself to take frequent breaks throughout the day helps to prevent burnout. If you think of a bodybuilder, there’s a reason they don’t work out for six hours a day. Your mind, like your body, needs time to reset and recharge.

You don’t need to take hour long breaks throughout the day, a simple 5–10-minute walk around your office every few hours would be just enough to refuel your spirit. If you feel yourself getting tired, that’s your mind and body telling you to rest. It’s best you listen to it!

Envision What You Want, Live Accordingly

Manifestation seems to be all the rage lately. There’s some truth to it. If you are consistently expecting the worst-case scenario, you automatically have a negative shift in your mindset. The consequence is you’re setting yourself up to actualize failure.

Instead, try and spend a few minutes each morning envisioning what your ideal life and business would look like. Try and be as specific as you can, but don’t attach a time limit to it. This act is all about seeing a picture in your mind and allowing yourself to feel as if it were a reality.

Your mind doesn’t know reality from imagination. Visualizing a positive, successful future primes your mindset to win and come out on top. You can be as “delusional” as you want with this practice, it’s your manifestation practice!
