3 Tips For Continuing To Work When You’re Hurt Or Not Feeling Well

3 Tips To Work When You’re Hurt Or Not Feeling Well

Regardless of what kind of job you have, if you’re having to go to work when you’re not feeling great, your whole work day can be a real drag. But in most cases, there are things that you can do to help you get through this day and get as much work done as you’re able to. To help you in doing this, here are three tips for continuing to work when you’re hurt or not feeling well.

Let Your Team Know What Happened

When you know you’re going to be heading into work when you’re not at your best, it can be helpful to let your team know what happened and how your work might be affected. Even just telling them that you hurt yourself over the weekend or that you’re feeling a bit under the weather can help set everyone’s expectations for how working might be a bit more challenging for you on that day.

Once your team knows what’s going on with you, you can ask them to help you a bit more while you’re dealing with this. Or, in some cases, they might even offer to take some of your workload off of you or be more flexible as you do your best with what you have right now.

Find Ways To Modify

For many jobs, there likely will be some way that you can modify your tasks so that you can still work even if you’re not feeling well.

While you might be able to figure out how to make some of these modifications on your own, if you’re going to need some guidance or assistance from your employer, you should try to figure out together how to make these modifications before you come into work that day. This way, a solution can hopefully be ready for you, whether it’s getting you some physical supports or even hiring someone to do part of your freight unloading work while you’re hurt.

Take Care Of Yourself During Your Off Hours

When you’re not working, it’s vital that you spend your time trying to heal yourself so that you’re able to get back to work as quickly and easily as possible.

To do this, you’ll want to make sure that you’re resting and getting a lot of sleep, eating food that will fuel your body, and not doing anything that will exacerbate your problems so that you stay sick or hurt for longer than you otherwise would.

You’re needing to go into work even if you have a small injury or you’re not feeling your best. If so, consider using the tips above to help you make the best of this bad situation.
