When it comes to choosing a laptop there is an age-old fight: Mac Vs PC. Both have their positives and negatives but honestly, the better one is all up to your needs.
For example, if you’re a gamer you probably want to go with PC rather than Mac. If you want a laptop for work rather than play though, Mac will trump PC every single time. Macs beat PC in more than just professionality though.
To help you make this impossible decision and get a new laptop on your desk, here is everything you need to know about how Mac is better than PC.
1. Macs are Easy to Purchase
Unless you know exactly what model and features you want your PC to have, buying one can be a little bit difficult because of all the options. This is because there are a million brands pushing out PCs of varying qualities. However, Apple is the only company that creates Macs.
You can pretty much grab any Mac in your budget and you’ll be all set to go. You won’t have to put as much thought and research into it.
2. They are Easier to Repair
You kind of run into the same problems with repairing a PC that you do with buying one. There are a lot of repair shops out there that will take your PC computer and fix it but you have to research to find the right one in your budget.
When it comes to Macbook repair there are little repair shops that will look at it but if you want to skip the research and get straight to repairs you can always just take it to a nearby Apple store. If you don’t have an Apple store in your area you also have the option to send it off for repairs. That takes a little longer but it’s easy.
3. Can Be Simpler to Use
While Windows computers aren’t hard to use per se they are certainly more cluttered. This can make it kind of annoying to navigate through them. Macs tend to have a very sleek interface.
This cleanliness makes them leagues easier to use because they’re straight forward and everything is easy to find.
4. Seamless Ecosystem
Both Apple and PC have additional accessories that work off their respective computers. When you compare the two though, you’ll find that Apple’s integration is way better than Windows.
If you already have AirPods, iPhone, iPad, AppleTV, Apple Watch, or HomePad it will be completely worth it to invest in a Mac. These devices work seamlessly with it and are so simple to use.
5. Awesome Free Software
Say you want to make a video. You film all of your scenes and now it’s time to put the clips on your computer and put it all together. iMovie is way better for this than Windows Movie Maker. Not only does iMovie work faster but you have several more customization options.
The only problem that you would run into is if you film your videos on a non-Apple phone. You won’t be able to upload the clips unless you put them on a flash drive or email them to yourself.
iMovie isn’t the only awesome free software that comes with the Mac either. You also have Garage Band and Image Capture.
6. Less Bloatware
You’ll find that when you get a PC there will be about a million apps installed that you care nothing about. In fact, you’ll probably be finding new bloatware every time you use the computer for at least a few months.
While you can simply delete the bloatware it’s still annoying to deal with and it just clutters everything up. While Mac has some of these programs too they’re not as many and they at least feel somewhat useful.
7. New Versions of the OS are Free
When Windows 10 first came out, you were able to download it for free if you had a Windows 7 or 8 computer. This window of opportunity has sadly closed, however.
Now, you actually have to fork over money to upgrade your system. Once you get Windows 10 or buy a computer with it, updates are free.
If you have a Mac you’re able to update your system and upgrade to the newest OS for approximately 0 bucks if your computer supports it.
8. Beautiful Display
The vast majority of Macs have a sharp, vibrant screen that your retinas will appreciate. To get this screen you’ll have to buy a newer model though. The older ones don’t have it.
If you’re thinking about going cheap and getting a MacBook Air, don’t. It uses the older screen technology so you won’t get that crisp picture. As you can see, you’ll have to do a little digging to find a Mac with this sharp screen but once you find one, you won’t be able to go back to PC.
Mac Vs PC: Why Mac is the Better Choice
When it comes to the age-old debate Mac Vs PC you’ll want to go with Mac every time unless you’re getting a laptop for gaming purposes. It has a sleeker picture, no annoying background software, is easy to use, integrates well with other Apple products, and are simple to shop for and repair. There is no reason to not take one home.
