Just like women, men shop for clothes online. However, shopping for men can be very challenging and hectic. In general, they just aren’t as savvy as the ladies are when it comes to buying outfits online. With so many online stores offering quality clothing at affordable prices, we see why it could be hard for a modern man to shop for clothing online. For all you DIY shoppers out there that don’t want your lady picking out your clothes, here are some tips to help you find success with online shopping.
- Google Images: Not all men have an eye for fashion, so pass on the guesswork and go right to Google images. Here you will see more men’s fashion than you have ever seen in your life. Most of these images are featured on the pages that sell these outfits. Let the fashion designers and photographers put the outfits together, and you can just scroll the never-ending Google image search until you see something you like.
- Online Retail Shops: The major retail stores have fabulous websites, built to impress, and convert you into a buyer. Take advantage of these sites by visiting their online catalogs and finding something there. Styles like Old Navy casual wear, Calibre high-quality menswear, Eddie Bauer outdoor wear, LL Bean, and Ralph Lauren designer attire. There are many others that will have catalogs featuring trendy outfits that might be right for you.
- Shop Smart: If something looks too good to be true, it might be. Be careful of smaller websites that are offering name brand items and an extremely low price. Some of these sites sell imitation name-brand items. While a branded tag may be stiched to those jeans, the quality will likely be far less than the designer jeans you wanted. Also, keep all your receipts until you are sure you want the item and do not take the tags off as soon as you get your clothes. Try things on and confirm they fit before taking tags off, and keep your packaging in case you need to return something.
- Get The Right Size: Buying garments that are too small or too big can really throw you for a loop. You can stop by a tailor and get measured so that you know exactly what size you need. The problem with buying online is that you won’t be able to try it on, so get accurate measurements. You should know how you like your shirts to fit, pants to fit, and undergarments to fit. Going a size up or down maybe a style preference for some.
Know Your Colors: Be aware when shopping online that colors may appear different in the pictures than they do on the shirt. Depending on where you buy from, this could be an issue. Know the colors that work for you, and try to find a vendor that ships items that are consistent with what is advertised on the website. Coloring is usually only an issue with small screen printing stores. Major outlets don’t have this problem.
