Major Points of Differences Between Google Adx and Google Adsense

For both small and large websites, display advertising is one of the most significant sources of revenue. However, you must spend some time and do enough research before selecting the tools you want to use for your marketing. Both Google Adsense and Google Adx are potent tools that help sell your ad inventories, but before you choose one of them, it is important to evaluate the difference between the two.

Definition

Google Adsense is a CPC program with which publishers earn profit for each click made on the ad. The publisher earns extra money each time a CPM is viewed by someone and served to the site. On the other hand, Adx, earlier known as DoubleClick Ad Exchange, allows publishers to sell the inventory of their ads to advertising agencies and experts. It works on real-time technology of bidding, in which the advertisers have to make quick decisions based on parameters like placement, size, and site of the ads.

Working

In Google Adsense, you are allowed to display your ads on a website if you meet all its eligibility requirements and if it accepts in its network and grants you permission. You have to enter a source code into the website, after which its visitors will be able to see your relevant ads and click on them.

As far as Adx is concerned, it does not get integrated directly into the website. Instead, the publisher first creates an Ad Manager account on Google, after which they can use Adx. After creating an account, the publisher gets a chance to display campaigns directly on the publisher’s website.

Getting Started

Adsense has a simple starting procedure, in which you have to simply visit the Adsense web page and sign in with your Google account. Submit the details of your website and wait for Adsense approval. Once you receive an approval email, Adsense will provide you with tags that you can copy and place on your site’s code to start displaying ads.

On the other hand, getting started with Adx is a little tricker. If you are a starter, you must have at least 5 million page views in a month and meet some other eligibility conditions. If you do that, you have to create an Ad Manager account and let the approval come.

Payments Procedure

With Adsense, the payment is initiated immediately after the publisher reaches the minimum threshold for payment. It usually begins with the payment processing period of 21 days, and then you can get the payments within 5-7 days. With Adx, once the publisher reaches the minimum threshold, they only receive the payment at the month’s end.

Ideal Users

For Adsense, the ideal users would be large publishers who get at least 5,00,000 page-views in a month. On the other hand, Google Adx is appropriate for small to medium-sized publishers who get fewer page views in a month.

If you are still confused between the two and cannot decide which one to choose for your advertisement publishing, get help from a third-party expert. With their expertise and experience, they can guide you towards making the right decision and also carry you through the entire procedure right from signing in to getting the payment.
