Virtual Invitation Sent To India To Attend SAARC Meet

Pakistan who is now expected to host the 19th SAARC summit sent an invitation to all the members of the South Asian Association for regional cooperation (SAARC), if India has any issue with joining the meeting personally they can join through virtual channels as reported by the foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. He also discussed the achievements and development of the country on the foreign policy front. The SAARC meeting was expected to be held in Islamabad in November 2016 but due to the tension between the twin countries, India and Pakistan this meeting could not take place.

A visit was paid to Islamabad by the secretary-general SAARC and Pakistan put forth its wish of looking forward to hosting the meeting as quoted by the foreign minister Qureshi. He has stated clearly that even if India does not want to join the meeting, it should not stop the other members from coming to Pakistan. He explained clearly that they would be sending out invitations to everyone and especially a virtual invitation to India if they are not ready to come in person. He also blamed India for everything and said that it is because of India that we cannot deal collectively with the covid-19 pandemic. Also, the SAARC cannot express its true potential because of the issues created by India to defame Pakistan.

The economic development and regional cooperation have suffered greatly due to the bilateral relationship with India which is directly dependent on the situation of peace and stability. We have suffered due to the hegemonic and this respective behavior of India especially through their leadership who have adopted an irresponsible and disrespectful anti-Pakistan and anti-Muslim agenda. Since 5th August 2019, India has preoccupied Jammu and Kashmir making the situation worse by altering its demographic structure and widespread violation of human rights violated and state terrorism which is a threat to international peace and security.

The foreign minister made it clear that Pakistan wants good relations with all its neighbors including India. He said that we want to create an environment for a productive dialogue on the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir issues to resolve peace issues in South Asia. The world can easily witness the criminal behavior India has adopted regarding Kashmir. Especially their behavior with Kashmiri leadership is inhumane they are all under house arrest or trumped-up charges. The death of Syed Ali Geelani is a criminal action and gives proof of Indian torture to the world as he died in Indian custody.

Other than that there has been some tension between the Pak- Afghan borders. Pakistan has tried its best to solve the controversy between the two neighboring countries. Taliban soldiers have been trying to invade the Pakistani border and uprooted fencing which we have set to regulate immigrant movement.

Discussing the country’s foreign development, the minister said that they have played a successful role in the evacuation of 80000 people from over 42 countries working through NGOs, officers, and media. He said that this is the role model for every responsible Nation.
